Children at the Urologist
What is bedwetting?
Every child has its own pace of development, but a guideline exists: every healthy child should stay dry overnight after five years of age. A hormone is responsible for keeping the amount of urine low during the night. Problems with this regulation can arise and are easily relieved by medication.
Phimosis and disturbed development of the testicles
Many otherwise healthy young boys need to visit the urologist due to these issues. Only a qualified physician can decide whether immediate action is necessary or may be delayed.
Bladder infection, urinary tract infection
These may occur at very young ages, mostly for girls. This is due to the short length of the urethra. Regular checkups, urine cultures, and ultrasonic examinations of the kidneys are necessary. Its not scary!
